LOVING the new Google Slides Updates

Posted in EdTech Musings

So I don’t know about you, but I hadn’t checked out the new updates in Google Slides… until today.  I am LOVING the new updates!  It just keeps getting better and better.  I’ve been sharing lately the power of video in the classroom, but with Slides only YouTube videos could be added.  That was a little bit of a bummer.  UPDATE!  We can now add videos straight from the Drive!  Plus there are a couple of really cool features as well.  Please see how below and as always, let me know if you have any questions along the way I can help out with!

1.  Open a Google Slide and Click on Insert

2.  Choose Video…

3.  Now you have THREE choices, Search, By URL, and Google Drive!  Click on Google Drive

4.  All video ever saved in your Drive will become available!  Filter by My Drive, Shared with me, or Recent.  (Recent is always my favorite filter choice.)  Double click on desired video and it will insert that video right into your slide.

5.  Now right click on the video for some additional VERY COOL options!

6.  You can now Start at and End at any point in the video, set the video to Autoplay when presenting, and Mute audio.  All three very useful features… Thank You Google!
